Olmsted County Sheriff’s Dept. Shares Warning About Text Messaging Scam

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Department shared a warning on Facebook this morning about a scam that isn't linked to the coronavirus but is targeting people here in southeast Minnesota.
The scammers send a text saying they have a package for you with a link for you to confirm a delivery time and your address. There isn't a package this scam is just a way for them to get your personal information. The Sheriff's Department says anyone that is unsure and thinks they might be missing something they ordered should contact their local post office. See the example below.

The FTC says a similar scam is happening through email: "The email is bogus and there is no package. And if you download the attachment or click on a link, you’re likely to end up with a virus or malware on your device.
