Milestone Reached in Rochester Area Fight Against COVID-19
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Olmsted County has reached a milestone and its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The most recent update from the state now shows 25-percent of Olmsted County's residents have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. The actual number of people is just under 39,000 and close to 25,000 of them have received both shots of the vaccine.
Statewide, almost 743,000 Minnesotans have had at least one dose and over 315,000 have had both doses of one of the COVID-19 vaccines. That means approximately 13 percent of Minnesotans have received at least one dose of the vaccine and about 5 percent are fully vaccinated.
The Minnesota Department of Health today reported 11 coronavirus-related deaths throughout the state. There were 884 new cases, including 21 new infections identified in Olmsted County. The daily testing total was nearly 28,500 and the daily testing positivity rate was about 3.2 percent.
