The weekly e-newsletter from the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism covers an Ambassadors' visit, an update the Leadership Academy and a report on Made-in-Owatonna Day.

The Made is Owatonna Day has the goal of showing local students the job opportunities that exist in Steele County. The newsletter reports that students had a strong positive shift in their attitude after learning about local jobs and careers. Areas focused on included teaching/education along with criminal justice/social work.

The Owatonna Chamber Ambassadors paid a visit to Westbrack Marketing in their new location at 109 Rose Street. The business is locally owned by Holly Sobrack who works with her clients on marketing tools and skills.

Business After Hours is Tuesday, March 26 at the new location of Spherion Staffing Services beginning at 5:30 pm. There is no cost to attend and member businesses are invited to bring a door prize to promote their business.

Planning ahead, the April 23 Business After Hours will be hosted by TPS Insurance/Carroll Seating at 285 18th Street SE.

The Owatonna Community Leadership Academy invites people to get an in-depth look at several different aspects of the community. The goal is to provide a venue for an exchange of ideas and solving problems, in addition to an opportunity to network. The academy begins in August. Go here for more details and an application.
