Looking For A Job? USPS Is Hiring
Years ago, I entertained the idea of becoming a mailman. The thing is I was living in San Diego, CA on the beach and I would see the mailman every day. He would be casually strolling down the boardwalk wearing some USPS issued shorts and weaving in and out of the way of bikini clad women on roller skates. I thought, what a great gig.
Unfortunately, we don't have that Southern California weather up in these parts. But, if you are looking for a job and fit the requirements, this could be an opportunity to get into a career or just a holiday gig.
According to USPS, they are expecting an upcoming increase in mail volume during the holiday season. They are looking to fill 250 temporary positions throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.
The Postal Service says it "is seeking motivated individuals who are looking to begin their career with the most trusted Federal Government Organization. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older (16 years old with a high school diploma or GED) and be able to pass a background check and drug test."
Many of the available positions offer limited benefits and vacation time accrual.
USPS is looking to fill these positions, City carrier assistants ($17.29 an hour) and Rural Carrier Associates ($18.56 an hour). They are also looking to fill these positions; Tractor Trailer Operator (TTO)- $23.20-$31.84/hour
- Mail Handler Assistant (MHA)- $16.55/hour
- Tractor Trailer Operator (TTO)- $23.20-$31.84/hour
- Holiday City Carrier (HCC)- $17.29/hour
- Holiday Clerk Assistant (HCA)- $18.15/hour
- PSE Mail Processing Clerk (PSE 813)- $18.15/hour
