Kenyon-Wanamingo Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet Next Weekend
Kenyon-Wanamingo Public Schools has their Homecoming next week and it culminates with the fourth annual Kenyon-Wanamingo High School Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday, September 29th at K-W High School. There is a social hour starting at 5:00 p.m. in the Commons. Catered dinner is 6:00 p.m. with program from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the High School Auditorium.
Once again this year inductees and teams will be representing Wanamingo High School, Kenyon High School, and Kenyon-Wanamingo High School. Homecoming Coronation is Monday night at 7:30 p.m. The new King and Queen will reign over the week events including Tuesday night's volleyball match against Class 2A state ranked Kasson-Mantorville which will be broadcast on KDHL.
Thursday the Knight volleyball team hosts Goodhue and Hall of Fame inductees will be introduced that evening. The Homecoming Football Game was last Friday in Goodhue because the K-W football team has no home games this season while they rebuild a new field.
A plaque will be presented to each Hall of Fame inductee and their names will be found on a Hall of Fame Board located in the High School and on an identical board in Wanamingo at the Elementary School.
Members of the teams being honored at the banquet will receive certificates and their team name will appear on the Hall of Fame Boards.
The list of inductees contains a number of people I have had the pleasure of calling their games, matches or visiting with on coaches shows over the years.
