Triton has had a frustrating season, winning just one regular season game. At least a couple of times the Cobras built a double-digit lead yet still came up short in the end. Some of those ill feelings were dispensed Tuesday as they scored a big upset of No. 2 seed St. Charles 56-44. The Saints won the regular season match up 28-21.

In Tuesday's playoff rematch, Drew Kelly caught four touchdown passes, ran in a score and returned a fumble for a touchdown. Mason Barker passed for 400 yards and five touchdowns according to the Rochester Post Bulletin. The Cobras amassed 549 total yards of offense.

Eventually Triton's defense stood out as well. Trailing 38-28 at the half, the Cobras only surrendered six points in the second half. Triton (2-7) will play at No. 2 seed Chatfield Saturday, October 27 at 7 pm. The Gophers edged Triton 14-0 in week three of the regular season.

Defending state champion Caledonia hosts Lewiston-Altura in the other 1AA semifinal. The winners play Friday, November 2 at Rochester Regional Sports Stadium at 8 pm.
