Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen showed up at the ER at Rochester St. Marys Hospital early Sunday and authorities are trying to figure out what happened.

The 32-year-old man is from Iowa and walked into the ER around 1:30 AM Sunday. He apparently drove himself to the hospital.

Because the man said he had been shot south of Rochester in rural Olmsted County, the sheriff’s office was contacted. Capt. Scott Behrns says his investigators doubted the man was shot in the county and the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office in Iowa was contacted.

Behrns says the man has been “very uncooperative” and as of Monday morning, the circumstances of the shooting were still unknown. Behrns says it does not appear the man shot himself.
