Infant Ibuprofen is Being Recalled Nationwide
Check your cupboards! A pharmaceutical company has recalled liquid ibuprofen sold at Walmart, CVS and Family Dollar that could contain higher concentrations of ibuprofen.
What does that mean?
"There is a remote possibility that infants, who may be more susceptible to a higher potency level of drug may be more vulnerable to permanent NSAID-associated renal injury. Adverse effects that may be experienced are nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, or more rarely, diarrhea. Tinnitus, headache and gastrointestinal bleeding are also possible adverse effects."- Tris Pharma, Inc.
The recall includes the Equate brand sold at Walmart, CVS Health brand, and the Family Wellness line sold at Family Dollar. They were sold in 0.5 oz. bottles as “Concentrated Oral Suspension." Look for the expiration dates of February, April or August 2019 at Walmart and August 2019 at CVS and Family Dollar.
