Fall activities registration is underway for Owatonna High School activities. Go to owatonnaactivities.com to get the process started through their new registration platform, Affinety. While the Minnesota State High School League voted August 4 to shift football and volleyball to a new spring sports season, the rest of the regular fall sports are on, through not quite as scheduled.

Boys and girls cross country, boys and girls soccer, girls tennis, and girls swimming and diving, in addition to fall drama, math league, and jazz band are all offered at OHS. Seasons will be reduced. Invitational events are being eliminated. Post season plans are unspecified.

Practice begins August 17. The annual parent/student meeting will not be held. Teams will schedule their own parent meeting. Find full contact information for coaches here.

Take note of these eligibility rules.

  • Families enrolled in Owatonna public schools are eligible to participate.
  • Families that choose to distance learn are also eligible to participate.
  • Families that home school are eligible to participate. Check full details.
  • Families that enroll in a private on-line academy or open enroll in another school district are NOT eligible to participate in the Owatonna extra curricular programs.

Despite some scale backs, Huskies Activities Director Marc Achterkirch is happy that the fall season will happen. In a letter posted on the activities website, he states, "We are excited and grateful for the opportunity to provide fall activities, as well as provide an opportunity for our students to participate in all activities throughout this upcoming year, with football, volleyball and fall cheer moved to a spring season."
