North Dakota authorities report the death of a 74 year old Hollandale man in a traffic accident Saturday. The High Patrol reports that 74 year old Robert Bowman failed to yield at a railroad crossing and was struck on the passenger side by an eastbound Burlington Northern train. The pickup truck was pushed by the train for about a mile before it came to a stop. Bowman was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was not wearing a seat belt.

Bowman was an owner of Bowman Harvesting of Hollandale a concern that specialized in grain harvesting which included corn, barley, wheat and soybeans.

The accident occurred just before 2PM on Saturday west of Minot, North Dakota.

According to the businesses website, they have been in operation for over 25 years.
