Now that we are in December, the Holiday Party season has started, and I am excited for all of the different holiday and Christmas parties I will be attending. I got my first taste of the seasonal parties yesterday afternoon.

The Northfield Ballroom was the venue for the Area 10 Special Olympics holiday party. This has been an event for area athletes, coaches, and families to enjoy a Christmas party with friends, that has been going on for over 20 years. This was the first year I was able to attend and I was not disappointed.

The White Sidewalls provided the musical entertainment for a very large group. I am not sure exactly how many people attended, but, I would guess it was close to 300 people. There was great food and Christmas cookies, and they almost had too much. Not a bad problem to have when planning a party.

The best part of the day? Santa, and Mrs. Claus, came in to share the stage with the band, sing a few songs, and hand out Christmas presents to all of the athletes. He was a huge hit, especially when he mentioned the Vikings win over the Falcons. A special thank you goes out to all of the volunteers who put together this event.
