Undated (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has canceled the statewide alert that was issued yesterday for a missing South Carolina child. A statement from the BCA says 2-year-old Dakota Ray was located late yesterday in Iowa and is now in protective custody. The little girl was with her non-custodial parents, who were arrested on unrelated charges.

In issuing the alert, the BCA indicated police in Camden South Carolina feared for the toddler’s safety and described her 44-year-old father and 36-year-old mother heavy methamphetamine users. The three were spotted earlier this week at a gas station in Marshall and the BCA, at the time, said investigators had reasons to believe the trio might still have been in Minnesota.
