I have recently written posts on becoming comfortable with doing things alone. Like me, some people are spending more time alone, but still want to try new things and have fun, and who said we need someone always with us to accomplish this! So finally, here are some ideas to start with, and hopefully, this brings some inspiration.

  1. Do something that you have been excited about

Has there been a specific place you wanted to go to, or a specific event, but don’t know who would want to go with you? Just go by yourself! Not only will you be doing something you have been excited to do but you get to do it at your own time or your own pace! Examples include concerts, museums, malls, movies, etc.

  1. Cook and eat your own dinner

Whether that is at home or at a restaurant, spend some time having a meal with yourself. You can even make a big event out of it and cook yourself a whole meal.

  1. See a movie

This is one of the easiest things to do in my mind because once you get to the theater and get a ticket, all you have to do is find a spot and enjoy a movie! This is a great way to experiment with doing things alone, and if you didn’t like it, you can always leave.

  1. Sit at a coffee shop

Do you need to catch up on homework or work in general? Or do you just want to sit and read a book but its way too cold or hot outside? Try finding a coffee shop with nice seating and spend some time hunkering down on work or enjoying a book. Plus, you can grab some coffee, Tea, or a little snack!

  1. Go on a solo trip

Whether this is a staycation at a hotel, a day trip to a specific town, or even an actual vacation this would be something to do with something new at every moment. This can seem scary but once emerging yourself into the experience (and of course being safe) this can actually become a liberating moment. If you want to start out small take a day trip to a popular town you’ve wanted to visit and get a hotel room for a night.

  1. Go shopping

This is another idea that is really easy in my eyes. We actually do this often if we ever have to run to a store quickly. This time make it a whole adventure. Go to the nearest mall and go to as many stores that interest you as you can, and even try stuff on!

  1. Go to a concert

This is something I have wanted to try! I know there are many artists I like and want to see in concert, but none of my friends know them and want to spend the money going to a concert where they don’t know the music. As long as it’s safe I would definitely do this and making friends at concerts is super easy.

  1. Attend a work event solo

Have a work donner party event you need to go to? Try just going by yourself! This way you can focus on building your relationships with your coworkers.

  1. Try a new workout class

One way to feel better inside and out is to exercise! Check out what workout classes are available to you. Want to do yoga, Pilates, or just want to go to a gym? Do some quick research and try it out. Or if you are trying to save money, find a space at home and look for workout videos on YouTube specific to the type you want to try.

  1. Go to a beach, Lake or Park

Whether you live near a beach, a lake, or just a park with a little pond and even a walking trail, you should definitely try that out. Being outside and getting a moment to take nature in can be beneficial! You can swim, ride a bike, walk, read a book, or even bring some art supplies!
