The Freedom Rock® Tour is one of the amazing ways to thank our veterans.

The original Freedom Rock was first established by artist Ray 'Bubba' Sorensen in which a new painting would hail on a 60+ ton boulder each year, and while painting murals across the country Sorensen had the idea of spreading the message of The Freedom Rock to other small communities across Iowa.

Thus, the Freedom Rock Tour was born and has continued to grow, and new murals were placed throughout Iowa. That has since been extended to other states and communities including three in Minnesota and one in Wisconsin.

The first Freedom Rock in Minnesota is in Kasson. You can see all of them in Minnesota below!

The Freedom Rock was originally established in 1999 in a rural Iowa community and has since spread across the midwest and country! Artist Ray 'Bubba' Sorensen, repaints the rock every year with a new Thank You to veterans on Memorial Day.

Below you will see some of the most incredible Freedom Rocks in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa! Iowa by far has the most Freedom Rocks with 99 total ones! Check out some of our favorites below. You can see all of the Freedom Rocks here, including some in Missouri, North Dakota, and Washington.

According to The Freedom Rock's website, Sorensen paints The Freedom Rock on his own with the tremendous support of family and friends. Sorensen is not commissioned to paint the rock but is able to do so each year with the generous help of donations.
