The next time you stop out to Brooktree in Owatonna stop in the pro-shop and see if Tom is in, and if he is, offer up a big handshake as he recently went on to win the Minnesota Senior PGA Professional Championship the first week of August!

The Minnesota Professional Golf Association scoreboard for the event, held in New Richmond Wisconsin, tells the tale of Brooktree Golf Course's Thomas Vizina going on to win a playoff against Eric Chiles of Chaska's Town and Country golf course and Edinburgh USA Golf Club's Don Berry.

Berry it should be noted is a 4 time Minnesota Senior PGA Professional Champion, having won in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2020.

All three golfers finished the two-round tournament with a -1 score.

It should be noted that Vizina ended up with 7 birdies during the tournament which was tied for second-most over the course of the tournament, which means he was on his game in regards to pretty much all facets. If you want birdies, you've got to keep your ball dry and generally in the shortgrass.

Vizina led the way as the better overall player on the front 9 both days totalling a -2 score with 10 pars and 5 birdies, it was the back 9 where he ended up losing a stroke on his overall lead but gave up two on the scorecard with a double bogey on #11.

The win netted Vizina $1,400 and moved him up on the Minnesota PGA money list to number #36.

Congrats to Tom on his championship, but like achieving a hole in one, are we all getting some drinks on him?
