Albert Lea, MN (KROC AM News) – A huge drug bust in Freeborn County that started as a traffic stop.

A Minnesota state trooper made a traffic stop of a vehicle on I-35 early Monday.

There were two men in the vehicle and while talking to them, the trooper noticed they were “visibly nervous.” In fact, the trooper wrote in his report the heartbeat of one of the men “was visible through his shirt.”

The trooper searched the vehicle and found 22 packets of suspected methamphetamine that weighed 28 pounds. Both men were arrested and are now facing drug charges.

They have been identified as 26-year-old Alex Zak of Hudson, Wisc. and 56-year-old Richard Allen of Westminster, Colorado.
