It may look like Christmas outside, but Halloween is coming and a lot of candy awaits!  A fun study was recently completed to determine the favorite candy in every state and you might be surprised by what everyone is eating in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Zippia.com did the study by using a pretty basic premise:

Using Google Trends, we determined which states were the most avid fans of each candy. We examined 50 different popular (and some infamously unpopular) candies, given us a range of candies that puts any grocery store shelf to shame.

It's important to note that they didn't include gum as a candy.  They also did include things like raisins and fruit snacks, which aren't candy at all.

Before we unwrap the delicious results for Minnesota and Wisconsin, I found it interesting that there is actually a state whose favorite candy are those chewy Circus Peanuts (I'm talking about you New Hampshire) and another who favors those orange and black wrapped Peanut Butter Kisses (I hope you're proud of yourself, Connecticut).

However, in our Northland states we prefer tried and true chocolate classics.

There you have it!  Minnesota loves Snickers the most and Wisconsin loves Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. You really can't go wrong with either one.

If you're wondering what the overall favorite snack in America is, the winner would be Starburst.  The fruit chews were the favorite in a total of 6 states.
