The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is asking Minnesota Farmers to participate in their annual fertilizer and pesticide survey. The survey this year will focus on Best Management Practices for soybean and corn farmers. This year the survey will be mailed to Minnesota farmers because of the COVID-19 pandemic. If Minnesota farmers do not fill out the survey they will receive a call from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.

The data collected will help the Minnesota Department of Agriculture "track the awareness, adoption, and use of nitrogen and pesticides Best Management Practices and provide guidance and research programs." This survey is actually being conducted for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture by the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service from the regional office in Missouri.

Farmers get a lot of calls at this time of the year from agricultural companies and many different agencies. It is tempting to just ignore them as we always seem to be busy. However, information gathered from surveys are important for educational and research purposes. If you have questions about the Minnesota Department of Agriculture survey call 651-261-1993.
