The Main Street Faribault first Car Cruise scheduled for May 15th is going to happen.  Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism CEO/President Nort Johnson told KDHL AM Minnesota listeners today the event will have some changes.

The COVID-19 pandemic has cancelled a number of events.  There will be no Memorial Day Parade in Faribault this year but there will be Memorial Day observances.  Complete details are still being worked out so people maintain social distancing.  We will have guests on AM Minnesota May 22nd to give us specifics.

The Car Cruise Committee of Faribault Main Street decided the first cruise will actually be a cruise instead of vehicles being stationary in the historic downtown district.  The lineup will begin 6:00 p.m. in the Buckham Center complex parking lot.

All traffic laws must be obeyed.

The route goes all over Faribault.

The Minne-Road Trip station wagon will help lead the parade through town and Johnson told us a group of motorcycle riders will be among the final units in the parade.

Johnson said Faribault proved we can do a parade and maintain social distancing with the morale boosting parade held last Wednesday.

The plan is to do the loop at least two times.
