Parts of Minnesota Could See Snow This Weekend
Yep, you read that right, there are portions of Minnesota that could see a slight amount of snow this weekend. It's primarily a possibility late Saturday night into early Sunday morning, and they're not predicting much, but still!
Tom Novak of Novak Weather brought the bad news to Bring Me the News. We are stuck in some pretty cold weather right now. It's unseasonably cold actually. Tom says that the average temperature in May in Minnesota is around the 60s to the low 70s. Across Southern Minnesota, the high on Saturday is around 57 degrees, and ranges from 56 to 53 on Sunday. Those are highs! The lows for Saturday night are around 38 degrees.
So, because of this cold weather and precipitation that is expected across the state over the weekend, there's a chance for some snow, but, lucky for us in Southern Minnesota, the chance is mainly in the central part of the state. As Tom shows in his video, right now they're predicting that West Central Minnesota could see 2-4 inches of snow! There's the possibility the Twin Cities could get a dusting but it looks like that's as far as it'll get. Let's hope it stays that way!
Long story short, we shouldn't be terribly surprised if we wake up Sunday morning and see a dusting of snow. Gross, I know, but it's snowed in May before. Maybe Sunday is the day we should all sleep in and hope that when we wake up the snow will have melted by then.
