The Faribault Falcons girls hockey team skated to a 6-1 win over the Austin Packers at the Faribault Ice Arena Tuesday night.  Junior Olivia Williamson had a hat trick and 4 points, junior Haley Lang added a pair of goals to lead the Falcons scoring.  Junior goalie Mikayla Bohner continued to impress by allowing just one third period goal and stopping 17 shots.

Williamson is second in the state in total points and second in goals scored and Lang ranks 21st in the state in total points after their performances.  Bohner is first in goalie wins with all six for Faribault, 5th in goals against average (0.67) and 7th in save percentage (.963).  Lang scored the first two goals of the game in the first period with one coming on the power play.  Her first goal at 11:36 was assisted by junior Abby Goodwin (5) and her power play was assisted by sophomore Rylie Starkson (5).  Lang now has 8 goals this season.

Faribault outshot Austin 35-18 in the game.  12-4 in the first period, 14-6 in the second period and 9-8 in the third period.

Williamson scored two goals and had an assist in a second period where the Falcons dominated control of the puck.  She now has 11 goals and 7 assists after scoring the lone goal of the third period for her team unassisted.  The two second period goals were assisted by sophomore Ashley Rost (1) and senior co-captain Kayli Burkhartzmeyer (3).  Williamson assisted on a senior Olivia Morelan goal 7:45 into the second period.  :51 later Williamson would score her first goal to make it 4-0.

Williamson scored her second goal with :49 to go in the period and her final goal with :39 to go in the game.

The Falcons entered the game perfect on the power play but that streak ended when Austin scored their only goal on the power play with just under 7 minutes to go in the game at 10:05.

Faribault was 1 for 5 on the power play and Austin 1 for 1.  The Falcons are 6-0 this season and 5-0 in the Big Nine while Austin is 1-2 overall and in the league.

The Big Nine leading Faribault hosts Northfield Thursday.  The Raiders rolled to a 6-0 win against Red Wing Tuesday night to also remain unbeaten in the Big Nine.  Northfield is 4-3 overall.
