The City of Faribault is giving residents a glimpse of the electric future with an electric vehicle (EV) test drive event known as a "ride and drive."  The event is Tuesday, August 13th, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Faribault City Hall.

According to a news release from the city a number of ride and drive events are being held across the state "to display the benefits of EVs."

"The City of Faribault is excited to share these benefits with the community and hopes you will come for a test drive."

The event will include a number of different models.  Dealership representatives will be available to answer any questions.  Local EV owners will also be in attendance to talk "about their experiences owning an EV."

There will be a 30 minute presentation at 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the Fire Department training room (next to City Hall) to educate and engage those in attendance about EVs.

"Electric vehicles offer a variety of benefits to communities."  Some of the benefits include, "lower costs-to-own over the life of the vehicle, cleaner air in the community, and a smooth, powerful ride."

More information is available on the city's website Faribault.org by searching for electric vehicles.
