Faribault Boys Hockey Receives Section 1A #3 Seed
The Faribault Falcons boys hockey team is the #3 seed in the Section 1A Tournament which opens this week at the high seeds. Faribault will host either #6 seed Waseca or #11 Rochester Lourdes on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.. Those teams play Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in Waseca.
The winner advances to the Semifinals on Saturday in Rochester at 2:00 p.m. The title game is Wednesday, February 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the Rochester Rec Center. The other Semifinal will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
#1 seed Dodge County is 20-5 with a 32% power play, 80.2% penalty kill. They host either #8 Winona (12-12-1) or #9 Austin (1-23) Thursday in Kasson. Winona's power play is 18.2%, penalty kill 72.6%. Austin has a 12.8% power play, 65.4% penalty kill.
#2 seed Mankato West (14-10-1) is 21.1% on power play, 78.9% penalty kill and open play Thursday against either #7 seed Albert Lea (9-14-2) power play 26.1%, penalty kill 76.4% or La Crescent/Hokah (4-15-1) 20.9% power play, 74.5% penalty kill.
The Falcons (16-7-2) power play is 17.5%, penalty kill 81.4%. Waseca (17-8) is 22% on power play, 81% penalty kill. Rochester Lourdes 18.9% power play, 63.3% penalty kill.
#4 seed Mankato East/Loyola (11-13-1) with 16.2% power play, 78.9% penalty kill Thursday hosts Minnesota River (14-10), 25.3% power play, 82.89 penalty kill.
