Downtown Owatonna Businesses Taking It To The…Sidewalks
It was America's Bicentennial year that the Doobie Brothers released their song 'Takin' It To The Streets' albeit different by a word, Owatonna's downtown businesses are taking it to the sidewalks July 23-25. According to the social media event, "you'd be CRAZY to miss this event."
Participating businesses in the 3 day sidewalk sale are:
Alexander Lumber, Bellebrook Boutique, Cedar Floral, Central Park Framing and Finds, Completely Kids, Court Sports and More, Hat Chic Clothing Co, Klecker's Kreations, Kottke Jewelers, Kristi's Boutique, Little Professor Book Store, The Music Space of Owatonna, Owatonna Shoe, Paffrath Jewelers, Tone Music, and Urban Loft.
The event, weather permitting will see the participating businesses putting merchandise outside the store reflecting "massive savings."
The Owatonna Sidewalk Sales will run Thursday, July 23 from 9am-7pm, Friday, July 24th 9am-5pm, and Saturday, July 25 8am-3pm.
The event is being put on by the Owatonna Business Partnership group, which according to the Owatonna Chamber of Commerce's website "meets the first Monday of each month at The Kitchen, 329 N Cedar, in downtown Owatonna from 8:00 – 9:00 am. OBP’s mission is to Promote fun events and experiences in Owatonna and involve as many people as we possibly can. OBP is the primary sponsor for many annual events and seasonal attractions — the Saturday Farmer’s Market held May to October in Central Park, the 11@7 Summer Concert series, also in Central Park, Crazy Days-the town’s annual shopping bonanza and family fun event held in July and Shop Owatonna for the Holidays event in December. Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings. If you have any questions, please email us at email@example.com."
So if you are in or around Owatonna late next week and are curious why so many businesses have moved part of their store outside, it wasn't anything bad, they are just participating in the sale!
