Wrong Ways People Are Wearing Masks
As summer cases of coronavirus surge across the country, more and more places are requiring people to wear masks to slow the spread of COVID-19. The purpose of everyone wearing masks isn't necessarily for your own personal protection, but rather to prevent asymptomatic people from unknowingly spreading the virus. You may not know that you are sick and could be spreading the virus to others.
The City of Duluth has already required masks be worn in public places, and they will fine businesses that don't comply. The list of companies mandating masks for customers has been growing steadily. Like it or not, masks are not going away anytime soon.
The CDC recommends that you wear a cloth face covering and offers guidelines as well. Children under 2 shouldn't wear them, and anyone with a health condition that makes breathing difficult should not wear one. Beyond that, everyone should do their part.
I do find it strange though on how many people don't understand the basics of wearing a mask. The entire point of it is to prevent your breath, coughs, sneezes, or anything from your lungs from going out into the air. Yet you see people totally missing the point on how these work.
