Detour Routes Change for Highway 14 Project Between Owatonna and Dodge Center
You can see a tremendous amount of progress on the Highway 14 expansion project as you roll along the route between Owatonna and Dodge Center. Traffic is scheduled to be opened on the new four-lane divided stretch yet this fall.
As part of the ongoing work, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has announced a new detour and the opening of a county road near Claremont. In a news release, MnDOT announced, "Dodge County Road 3 south of Claremont will re-open Sept. 20, while Dodge County Road 5 will be detoured and 140th Ave. will close on Sept. 21 as part of the Hwy 14 expansion project west of Dodge Center."
"Motorists will be able to use County Road 3 south of Claremont to cross the new Hwy 14 route but will not be able to access the new Hwy 14 route, because the road is not open."
MnDOT reminds truck and bus drivers "that are required to stop for at-grad railroad crossings should follow detour signs to avoid the rail cross near Steele County Road 180, because no pullover lane is available."
