There is another "Click It or Ticket" campaign starting, this one starts on Monday, September 17th, and goes through September 29th. Over 300 law enforcement agencies from across MN will be targeting motorists for not wearing their seatbelts.

Wearing a seatbelt is now a primary offense, if an officer sees someone in a vehicle not in proper restraints, they can pull you over and give you a citation. The initial cost for a seatbelt ticket is $25, but once you add the fees, it can run over $100. Pretty expensive for something so simple to just click before you drive.

If you do happen to get pulled over for this know that the drivers will be ticketed for unbelted passengers ages 14 and younger, but unbelted passengers age 15 and older will be ticketed directly. You can find out more information about the seatbelt laws in MN here.

Unless you want a ticket, put on your seatbelt, and make sure your passengers are also belted, or in the case of children, in the proper car seat restraint system for their age and size.
