Carole King’s ‘Tapestry: Captured Live at Hyde Park London’ Coming to Theaters
Carole King's 2016 appearance at London's Hyde Park brought the acclaimed singer-songwriter back to the U.K. for the first time in nearly three decades — to perform her classic Tapestry LP in its entirety for the first time ever. Fans can watch it all happen during a special one-night-only theatrical event next month.
Titled Carole King: Tapestry – Captured Live at Hyde Park London, King's new concert film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 11 courtesy of Fathom Events, with tickets on sale now at the official event site and through select box offices. For Fathom CEO John Rubey, hosting the screening represents an opportunity to connect fans of a singular artist with a once-in-a-lifetime event.
"It’s a pleasure and a privilege to bring Carole King’s historic album-themed concert Tapestry to fans throughout the nation," said Rubey. "Tapestry is a career-defining album that continues to wow listeners more than 45 years after its release, and the rave reviews that followed this concert are a true testament to that fact."
In addition to the entire Tapestry track listing — including "I Feel the Earth Move," a portion of which you can sample above — King performed other select cuts from her songbook, and was joined throughout the evening by an array of special guests that included Elton John, Graham Nash, James Taylor and David Crosby. The evening will later be recaptured on an upcoming Carole King: Tapestry – Live at Hyde Park CD/DVD release, but July 11 marks fans' only opportunity to see it on the big screen.
