Sell Out Show Stuns at Paradise
The Paradise Center for the Arts in downtown Faribault was filled with fans of all ages this weekend as the Faribault Community Theatre transported audiences to France and put on Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Nearly every show was packed, and after catching the Saturday matinee for myself, its no wonder why.
To say that the cast did well is quite the understatement. From the vocal performances, to the casting and the costumes, the entire show was phenomenal. I was amazed at the talent on stage, and I wasn't alone. After a fantastic rendition of "Be Our Guest" the cast received a standing ovation, and they would go on to receive a second standing ovation at the show's close. The attendees ranged from young to old, all enjoying the familiar tale, and several bouts of giggles and gasps went through the crowd at various points in the play. It was a great show, put on in a beautiful theater.
I had such an enjoyable time at the show, and the experience reinforced my desire to catch more shows at the Paradise Center for the Arts. Out community is so lucky to have such a beautiful venue right downtown, and I'm already looking forward at what else I might like to catch at the Paradise. Currently on the list are the Fab 6- Music of the Beatles show on July 7, Duelly Noted dueling piano show on July 15, the Blue Collar BBQ and Arts Fest on August 12, and Kat Perkins Home for the Holidays in the winter just to name a few. But there are always great shows at the Paradise Center for the Arts, along with fun classes, galleries, and a storefront.
