The Goodhue County Public Health Department today updated the city breakdown of COVID-19 cases.  Cannon Falls has had 38% of the 98 positives reported since January 20, 2020.

Red Wing has 23%, Kenyon 15%, Zumbrota 9%, Goodhue 5%, Wanamingo 4%, Welch 3%, Pine Island 2%, Dennison 1%.

Women comprised 54% and men 46% of the cases.  7 Goodhue County residents have died from the virus.

The number of patients from Goodhue County no longer needing isolation is 69.  10 people have had cases serious enough to be hospitalized and 5 have been admitted to intensive care.  Currently 2 people from Goodhue County are hospitalized.

People in their 50's have comprised 20% of the county's COVID-19 positives.  16% in their 20's and 60's.  15% in their 40's, 9% are in their 70's, 8% are in their 30's, 5% 10 to 19, 4% in 80's and 90's, 3% are under 10 years old.

The exposure information show 36% living in congregate living settings, 31% community known contact with a positive case.  14% community with no known contact with a positive case.  8% are health care staff, 6% travel and 5% unknown.

Exposure is defined as a person diagnosed with COVID-19 who either visited, worked, or lived at a congregate-care facility while they were contagious.

The Minnesota Department of Public Health (MDH) did provide information about the number of tests for each county so a positive cases percentage could be determined.  Goodhue County has had 5,002 tests administered so the rate is 2.1% according to MDH.
