Buy a Cake, Get Tickets to a Game
The annual Owatonna Young Life cake auction is a tremendous fundraiser. It's also a great chance to bid on tickets to Minnesota sporting events, local sports features and maybe a chance to try something new. The auction is Saturday, April 13 at the Owatonna High School gym and will be broadcast on Kat Kountry 105FM starting at 10 am.
A four-pack of tickets to the Gopher football game on August 29 against South Dakota State is attached to one cake. Two tickets to the game versus Illinois October 5 comes with another cake. One winner will land tickets to a Minnesota Wild game next season and a Wild-designed corn hole game.
At least four cakes have Twins tickets with them: June 15 against Kansas City, July 7 versus Texas, July 18 against Oakland and August 4 with the Royals. The July 18 tickets are front row! For a different baseball experience, Youth 1st is sponsoring a four-ticket package to see the Mankato Moondogs.
The auction is also a chance to try something different while benefiting a great cause. One cake comes with a Topgolf experience of two hours of private golf for 12 people with a food voucher. There's also an Amazing Race for 12 people and an Escape Room event.
Bidders can also battle for a curling party at the Owatonna Curling Club. The item includes a lesson, a match and dinner afterward. Sparetime Entertainment is offering a bowling/laser tag combo for four people with food.
Cake specials also include a four-person entry into the From the Heart Run in May that raises money to assist local families dealing with cancer. A foursome for the August 16 Young Life Golf Tournament will be up for bid.
Sporting goods will include golf accessories, a bike and a stand-up paddle board. See the list of items here.
