Buckham West Program Coordinator on KDHL
Brenda Johnson, Buckham West Program Coordinator stops by KDHL for a visit on AM Minnesota 9:30 this morning. Johnson has worked for the Faribault Area Senior Center which is now Buckham West for over two decades.
The Mission Statement for Buckham West is, "Dedicated to the Well-Being of Older Adults." They have some upcoming trips you might be interested in:
- Jackpot Junction, Tuesday and Wednesday, January 14, 15. Cost is $75 including transportation and hotel room. Single rate is also available.
- Future trips planned for The Looney Lutherans, in "Livin' La Vida Lutherans" on February 11, "Music Man" starring Faribault native Ann Michaels as Marian at Chanhassen in early spring and a trip to Minnesota's Arrowhead region in late spring.
"Powerful Tools for Caregivers will be a educational program designed to help caregivers take care of themselves while caring for a relative or friend. You will benefit from the class whether helping a parent, spouse, friend, someone who lives at home, in a nursing home, or across the country." That's the description on the Buckham West website.
The six-session program meets at Buckham West and is free bur registration is required. You can register online here or by calling 507-450-1518.

The six sessions will run Tuesdays. February 18-March 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Thursday, January 30 courtesy of the Paradise Center for the Arts and the Minnesota State Arts Board, singer/songwriter Chris Koza and his band are providing "Artists in Residence" opportunities around Faribault. He will be at Buckham West for a relaxed, coffee house style performance from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Christ Koza is an internationally recognized artist who has released a dozen albums over the past several years. He performs regularly as a solo artist and with his band Rogue Valley at top Twin Cities venues. No reservations or membership is required to attend.
Memberships for 2020 are $40 singe and $70 couple.
