Body of Man Found In Rice County Corn Field Sunday Morning
The Rice County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a deceased male in a cornfield near the intersection of Halstad Avenue and County Road 86 in northern Rice County Sunday morning.
A call about a possible body came in at 9:32 am.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a white pick-up truck parked on the side of the road heading eastbound on County Road 86.
Deputies stated to the Montgomery Messenger that a deceased adult male was found a short distance from the vehicle in the cornfield, there is no other information at this time as it is currently under investigation. Law enforcement did state that there is no threat to the public at this time.
The Elko New Market Police Department, Scott County Sheriff’s Department, the MN State Patrol and North Memorial assisted at the scene.
