Bethlehem Academy Mentioned in Latest Volleyball Rankings
The Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals were ranked #10 in Class A when the season began but fell out of the top 10. Following a four set victory over then #2 rated Class 1A Mayer Lutheran last week they did receive a mention in the latest Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association rankings released Sunday night.
That loss only dropped the defending state champs from Mayer Lutheran one spot to #3. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown moved up to #2 in the latest rankings. Mabel-Canton is still #5 and Caledonia #10. Those two teams are in the same section with Bethlehem Academy.
In the Class 2A rankings the Stewartville Tigers and Kasson-Mantorville Komets are still ranked #1 and #2 and Kenyon-Wanamingo moved up a spot to #6 providing great representation for the Hiawatha Valley League in the rankings. Belle Plaine is #8 and in the same section with Kenyon-Wanamingo. Of course Stewartville and Kasson-Mantorville are in the same subsection.
In Class 3A there have been a few different teams ranked on top and this week Champlin Park is back on top. Lakeville North is #2, Eagan #3, Lakeville South #4, Shakopee is #8 and Northfield #9.
