The Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals received the #1 seed in Section 1A voted today by the coaches involved in the tournament.

If the seedings were based on QRF Kenyon-Wanamingo would receive the top seed despite Mabel-Canton having the best record of 22-2 and going 14-0 against Section 1A opponents.

Kenyon-Wanamingo was 2-1 in the Section and BA 3-0.  There are 20 teams in Section 1A.

Section 2A continues the Subsection setup which generally features less travel and opponents teams are more familiar with.

I will list the top 10 seeds in Section 1A:

The first round will consists of five matches on Monday.  #16 Southland (5-10) hosts #17 Houston (4-14) with the winner traveling to Bethlehem Academy Thursday night.

#13 Kingsland (2-8) has #20 Lyle-Pacelli (0-15) come to their place.  The winner plays at Spring Grove Thursday.

#5 Fillmore Central entertains #12 Wabasha-Kellogg (6-20) with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11:30 a.m.

Bethlehem Academy will see either #16 Southland (5-10) or #17 Houston (4-14) in Van Orsow Auditorium Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.  The winner advances to a 10:00 a.m. match Saturday against the Grand Meadow vs. Rushford-Peterson victor.

Mabel-Canton waits for #15 Randolph (2-21) to compete against #18 Schaeffer Academy of Rochester (2-16) Monday.  The winner advances to play the #2 seed at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Mabel-Canton High School.

#7 Hayfield (14-12) faces #10 Lanesboro (16-9) Thursday in the Vikings gym.  The winner plays Mabel-Canton 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Rochester.

The Faribault Falcons are in Section 1 Class 4A which doesn't seed until the weekend.  They will open play Wednesday, October 27, 2021.  It appears at this point at Red Wing.

Section 1AA has 18 teams listed but Shattuck-St. Mary's is not participating in postseason play.

Monday night in Rochester #16 Lourdes ( 3-17) will host #17 Blooming Prairie (5-18) with the winner going to #1 Cannon Falls (23-5) Thursday.

It's the only play-in or first round matchup.  #2 Zumbrota-Mazeppa (20-6) plays in Mazeppa against #15  Triton (4-18).
#3 Caledonia (19-8)  sees #14 LaCrescent (7-19) in their gym.
#4 Lake City (19-9)  entertains #13 Plainview-Elgin-Millville  (4-16).
#12 St. Charles (4-16)   marches into #5 Medford ( 20-8)
#6 Chatfield (18-8) hosts #11 Winona Cotter ( 7-15)
#10 Dover-Eyota ( 11-13)  is at #7 Goodhue ( 17-10)
#8 Lewiston-Altura ( 17-7)   plays #9 Pine Island   ( 14-14).

Section 2 Class AA continues their Subsections.In the South Waterville-Elysian-Morristown is the top seed with a 13-12 record.They open with #8 Blue Earth Area
(2-23).

Section 2 Class A continues their Subsection tradition with a North and South.

In the South #8 United South Central (6-16)  has #9  Martin County West (5-16) in Wells with the winner playing against top dog Cleveland (19-8).

#2 Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (9-16)  plays #5 Madelia (10-18)

#3 Springfield (11-13) faces Martin Luther/Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman (7-18)

#7 Mountain Lake/Comfrey (8-14)  tangles with Mankato Loyola (1-23)

In the North the top team is the state's top ranked Class A team all year Mayer Lutheran (22-1).  They will host the winner of the #8 Sleepy Eye Public (10-13) vs. #9 Lester Prairie (2-21) game.

South #4 New Ulm Cathedral (19-5) goes up against Nicollet (17-11).

#3 BOLD (20-4) plays #6 Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop (12-12)

#2 Sleepy Eye St. Mary's (25-0) hosts #7 Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (14-14)
