Most of us know someone who rides a motorcycle even if it's just as a passenger.  If you have that loved one in your life you plan on gifting this Christmas, what's a good gift for them?

Everyone is different of course and if like me, can be particular on clothing, especially riding gear.  So unless it's your significant other and you know exactly the size and style of shirts or gear they prefer, stay away from clothing gifts.  I will say though if you know that their favorite riding gloves, or helmet are a bit worn, be sneaky and get them a replacement if you can find that exact product.

GAS CARDS FOR CHRISTMAS

Since motorcycles don't run on hopes and dreams, go with the gas station card.  Bikes take fuel, and riders like snacks on their adventures.  Many also run premium fuel which costs more and while motorcycle tanks are smaller, five to six gallons of the good stuff adds up on a trip.  If you do go this route, make sure it's for a filling station that's common enough or at least around their home area.

MOTORCYCLE GUARDIAN BELL

Also known as a "Gremlin Bell", "Ride Bell", or some other moniker, these mean a lot to some people with motorcycles.  Traditionally they are hung at the lowest point of a bike, and the ringing of the bell wards off evil spirits while bringing good karma and luck your way.  When given as a gift from a loved one, they are claimed to work twice as well, and you're really not supposed to buy your own.  There are so many options with these bells as far as designs and styles, so put some thought in if you get one so it's extra special for the receiver.  They make bells catered to specific professions, religions, lifestyles, and even patriotic ones.  You can check out a bunch of Guardian Bells HERE, or stop into the HARLEY-DAVIDSON SPORT CENTER to see some in person.

PERSONALIZED MOTORCYCLE CHRISTMAS GIFTS

With 3-D printing now, and fantastic sites like ETSY, you can find just about anything for that biker in your life.  From wall-art, jewelry, and even motorcycle themed decanters, the options are almost endless.  Throw their name, nickname, or something specific to them into a design, and it will be hard to not appreciate the thought put into the gift.

MOTORCYCLE GPS/NAVIGATION

Be careful with this one and make sure your know your biker as many use their phones or might have a bike with navigation built in.  If they don't, and they have mentioned getting something like navigation, consider the many options out there for bikes now. Even just a hop on AMAZON and it will give you plenty of ideas for navigation products.  Also, some older bikes can be retro-fitted with navigation for a clean look with less bulk, so that's another route to consider.

PHONE HOLDER/MOUNT

Many now like to have their phones mounted to their handlebars or on the tanks of their bikes.  You might ask why would someone need their phone mounted on their bike?  Part of the reason we ride is the freedom and to get away, but having the phone handy is nice for those who listen to tunes and for navigation that we talked about above.  Don't cheap out on a phone mount though, as we all know how expensive phones are.  Consider a well known and well reviewed brand like ROKFORM or the many others out there, but do your research.

A NEW MOTORCYCLE FOR CHRISTMAS

You know, like the one with the Santa hat pictured above.  It may not be in the budget for everyone, and it probably won't fit under the tree very well, but what gift is more awesome than a new bike?  If you go this route, much like the clothing options, a rider is going to be specific about what they want.  So approach this by getting something motorcycle related for them to open with a note saying "Let's go pick out a new bike".  You'll probably win the "Significant Other of the Year" award on this one.  This can be a plus for both of you as if a passenger is giving the gift, or permission to buy one if you will, maybe it can be something more comfortable for the both of you.
