Beef Quality Assurance
Processors are requiring that dairy and cattlemen be certified in Beef Quality Assurance (BQA.) Consumers deserve to know that Minnesota's beef farmers, ranchers and dairyman are committed to raising safe, wholesome and nutritious beef. The Beef Quality Assurance Program helps farmers to be certified on best practices in cattle handling, management and care. Cattlemen and dairyman can get certified on line or by attending a local meeting. The certification is free thanks to funding my the Minnesota Beef Check-off.
There will be two local meetings that will be held on Tuesday November 27, 2018 in our area. The first will be at 9:45 a.m. in the Carver County Public Works Conference Room # 1: 11360 Highway 212 West Cologne, MN 55322. The second on the 27th will begin at 1:00 pm at the AG Partners Main Office in Le Sueur 901 N. Street Le Sueur, MN 55058. You do not have to pre-register. Notice I mentioned dairyman are included too? When dairy cows are no longer productive they are processed and enter the beef supply. Plus, dairy steers are fed out and also enter the beef supply.
