Analysis: Vikings Run Over the Raiders
Minnesota Vikings fan Todd Walkingstick, a regular contributor on AM 1390 KRFO, felt a bit of relief after the team scored on its opening drive in Sunday's 34-14 win over Oakland at US Bank Stadium. He admitted during an on-air segment on Monday that he still had memories of a game the Vikings lost to Buffalo as a heavy favorite last season.
He was impressed with Minnesota ground attack, "The run blocking was maybe as good as I've seen in a long time. As everyone watched Dalvin Cook, Alexander Mattison, and even (Mike) Boone got in some action for 205 yards rushing as a team. Evidently, it's our year to run so far."

Walkingstick knows it's all about wins, however they may come. He says the team doesn't need their 84-million-dollar man Kirk Cousins to throw for 350 yards in a game. The crowd was less than their Minnesota-nice self with some boos of Cousins during pregame introductions after a shaky performance by the signal caller last week at Green Bay.
The Bears will pose a tough challenge on Sunday, September 29, "Their defense horrifies me. It scares me," said Walkingstick on Monday before that unit went out and forced five turnovers in a victory at Washington in Monday Night Football.
Walkingstick enjoyed other aspects of Sunday's home game including the introduction of the 1969 team that played in the Super Bowl in 1970, former coach Bud Grant's halftime presentation, and a 96-year-old World War II veteran playing the National Anthem on a harmonica.
Walkingstick hosts "Beyond the Game," a local sports interview show that can be found on OwatonnaLive.com.
