Guy Ritchie’s adaptation of the popular 1960s NBC spy series ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ is very much a throwback to the classic spy movies. Whereas most modern spy movies, like ‘Skyfall’ or the upcoming ‘Kingsman’, do their best to distance themselves from the Roger Moore style, ‘U.N.C.L.E.’ actually embraces it. It’s even set in the 1960s. But, is there an audience for a good, old fashioned spy movie? Watch the new ‘U.N.C.L.E.’ trailer and see for yourself.
‘Spectre’, the upcoming 24th James Bond movie, is currently filming in Austria where it is probably as cold and snowy as wherever you are right now (damn you, Polar Vortex!). The cast and crew took some time out to update 007 fans on the progress of the upcoming film with a video blog on what they're currently shooting, which they promise manages to top even ‘Skyfall’.
Here's some news we never expect to report today... Warner Bros. is planning a spinoff of their classic Looney Tunes franchise that would be based on Acme Corp. - the company which Wile E. Coyote and others use to buy their anvils, dynamite and earthquake pills - and would Steve Carell. And, before you ask, no, there won't actually be any Looney Tunes characters in the movie. Huh?
Now, comes word that the 'Star Wars: Episode 7' production team convened early this morning to discuss the nature of Ford's injury and how it will impact the shooting schedule. The early word from those meetings was that 'Star Wars: Episode 7' "could be pushed back by a substantial amount of time."
The full 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' trailer has arrived, and it's a testament to how good this movie really looks that we all really know what's going to happen (it's called 'Planet of the Apes' not 'Planet of the Humans' for a reason), yet it's still incredibly suspenseful.
It's hell getting old. You're overworked, underpaid, get grey hairs, everything hurts, there's barely time for sex, you fall asleep on the couch watching 'Game of Thrones' and, unless you're George Clooney, you're just not cool anymore. You either hike up your pants and accept it, or you wage all out war. It's the latter that highlights the uproarious Seth Rogen and Zac Efron comedy 'Neighbors,' which just might be the funniest American movie since ... well, since Seth Rogen's last movie.
The 'Star Wars: Episode 7' casting hasn't even been completed, with roles both major and supporting still left to be announced, so it seems a bit premature to already have the new 'Star Wars' title, but has it leaked online in advance of an official announcement?
Yesterday, the 'Star Wars: Episode 7' cast was announced, revealed alongside a group photo of the assembled team at the first table read in London. At the time, we only had a Facebook-sized photo, which made it somewhat difficult to parse who's who. Now, we've gotten our hands on a big, hi-res version and we've added some annotations so you clearly see who was in attendance.
Listen, we all know 'Star Wars: Episode 7' will bring back Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. It has yet to be confirmed by Lucasfilm or Disney, but it's perhaps the worst-kept secret in Hollywood. But, if you need some additional confirmation ahead of the official 'Star Wars: Episode 7' cast announcement (rumored to be taking place on May 4), we do have word that all three of the original cast members were spotted in London this weekend as filming is set to begin.
