Youth 1st is partnering with the Owatonna Arts Center to create a mobile art experience. The 5k color dash will start in downtown Owatonna at 11AM on Saturday, July 25.

The shimmer color dash is an untimed 5k that welcomes runners of all abilities. Participants are provided with a white t-shirt to start. Different colors are sprayed on runners along the course. The powder is a non-toxic food starch substance. Runners have raised more than $1 million for local charities across the United States.

Youth 1st is hosting the run in a partnership with the Owatonna Arts Center to create an outreach to the community. The plan is for a portable art program that can be taken to day cares, after-school programs and birthday parties with a variety of art project. The goal is to connect more kids and families with the OAC.

Youth 1st works to unite community, character and conduct through value-based youth development.
