Youth 1st Hockey Night with the Blades Rescheduled for February 11
What's better than a night of hockey? A night of free hockey with free food. Owatonna's Youth 1st program and the Steele County Blades junior hockey team host Hockey Night Monday, February 11 at the Four Seasons Centre at 8 pm. The event features Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism family night. Free game tickets are available at the chamber office.
This game is rescheduled from January 30 when frigid weather forced a postponement. The Blades will host the Rum River Mallards. Puck drop is 8 pm. A free tailgate pregame party starts at 7 pm sponsored by SpareTime Entertainment of Owatonna. Starbucks will be on hand with free coffee.
There will be a post-game Meet the Players gathering with cookies and hot chocolate. Players will sign posters. Members of the OHS DECA program who have qualified for state competition will also be recognized.
Owatonna Chamber members will drop the ceremonial puck and participate in a between-periods on-ice puck shoot.

In other news from the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, they announced plans for the 2019 Golden Opportunity Banquet in their weekly e-newsletter. The banquet raises money for the Ted G. Ringhofer scholarship. Submission deadline for the scholarship is April 5.
The chamber also announced the Kill Cupid: Historic Pub Crawl Friday, February 15 from 7 to 9 pm in downtown Owatonna. The "walking tour with a twist" starts at the Bridge Street Tavern. There is some free food and drink specials on the tour. Tickets are available from the chamber office or from participating locations of Bridge Stree Tavern, Just One More, Dog Pound and Reggie's Brewhouse. You must be at least 21 years old to enjoy the event.
