Wild 24-Hour Joint Operation Nets 10 Guns, Drugs, and Money In Minneapolis
In a recent announcement from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and the Minneapolis Police Department, a recent joint operation that spanned LESS than 24 hours took 10 guns, drugs, and thousands of dollars in cash off Minneapolis streets. The operation featured members of the Minneapolis Police Department, Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, FBI, and ATF targeting areas known to have violent crime.
According to the post to social media by the Minneapolis Police Department, but shared by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, 17 people were arrested over the span of the operation, and members of the joint operation witnessed gunfire from a stolen vehicle, an Amber alert, a squad being rammed by a suspect trying to flee, use of a tire deflating tool to end a pursuit, and members were involved in two separate foot pursuits with fleeing suspects.
The haul netted by law enforcement included 10 guns, of which two had the capability of being fully automatic, and numerous drugs including methampethamine, crack cocaine, and heroin.
