This is the story of how Daylight Saving Time came about. The answer is here why do we start at 2 am on Sunday and not midnight Saturday night.

I know everyone calls it Daylight Savings Time, but it's wrong. Even some of the news and media get it wrong, don't believe me? Do a search on it.

Daylight Saving Time will end on the first Sunday of November, not Halloween (October 31st) as we all think so. I know everyone changes their clocks before they go to bed. I know I do, but the official way to do it is at 2 am. Why?

Time says the reason Daylight Saving Time starts at 2 a.m., rather than midnight, can be blamed on the railroads, particularly Amtrack. After many different versions of Daylight Saving Time, the country agreed in 1918 on 2 am Sunday morning, because there were no Amtrack trains leaving  New York City, or anywhere for that matter, so it would be least disruptive if you changed your clock at 2 am.

This is funny, Cnet says Norway's Minister of Trade and Industry, Iselin Nybo,  who's got the job of implementing Daylight Saving Time in Norway, told the Norwegian News Industry she is sorry to the country of Norway for forcing them to change the time. Then, since Daylight Saving Time hits Norway before most of the World, she apologized to the world. Well, at least it's someone, but it's not the person who came up with this idea.

If you want to hate someone, hate Ben Franklin. He first came up with the idea, and it was experimented with for many years. According to livescience.com, Benjamin Franklin's original idea was to save energy. Keep this in mind, they hadn't harnessed the power of electricity and they were still lighting the street lamps with flames. So what kind of energy were we wasting?

Daylight Saving Time is not Federally Mandated according to Vox, so Arizona and Hawaii do not have to touch their clocks. I know this because my family all live in Arizona and I have to remember if it's two hours later or one.

The point is, it's the fall, don't forget this saying (unless you are in Arizona or Hawaii) Spring forward, and Fall back.  Turn your clocks back an hour sometime before 2 am November 1st, or you will be late for everything on Sunday or Monday if your procrastinate.
