Victim of ‘Vehicle vs Child’ Incident in SW MN Was 20 Months Old
Wabasso, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in southwestern Minnesota have released the name and age of the child who was killed in a traffic incident on Friday.
The West-Central Tribune says the Redwood County Sheriff's Office identified the young victim as one-year-old Braxton Welch of Wabasso. Few details about the incident that resulted in his death have been released, but the Sheriff's Office previously described it as a "vehicle vs child" incident.
The deadly incident occurred Friday at a rural intersection about 4-miles north of the small community near Redwood Falls. According to the newspaper, the Sheriff's Office identified the driver of the vehicle as 31-year-old Jacob Welch.
An obituary posted by Nelson Hillestad Funeral and Cremation Services in Redwood Falls indicates Braxton is survived by his brother and parents, Samantha and Jacob Welch. A Funeral Mass Braxton will be held Friday morning at At. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso.
