Two Minnesota Restaurants on Yelp’s ‘100 Best Places to Eat’ List
Minnesota has been getting attention in recent years with its vibrant food scene, and that trend continues with two Minnesota restaurants making Yelp's national 2021 '100 Best Places to Eat' List.
The past year has been a tough one for local businesses-- especially bars and restaurants-- here in Minnesota and across the country as the coronavirus pandemic took hold and either impacted their ability to offer indoor dining. And while some have closed their doors, others are still hanging in there-- and serving some amazing food.
Which is why being included on this year's Yelp list of the '100 Best Places To Eat' is a pretty impressive accomplishment. And two Minnesota restaurants have done just that. First, though, a little background. If you're not familiar, Yelp is the site that allows users to review and rank area businesses both here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes and across the country. So this is a list compiled not by food critics, but by everyday consumers like you and me.
And, yeah, Yelp's 8th annual list starts with reviews by its app users. Yelp said it asked users across the U.S. to submit restaurants that they can’t wait to return to in 2021. Yelp’s data science team then analyzed those submissions to determine the top restaurants by ratings, number of reviews, and volume of submissions, and other factors.
And representing Minnesota on this year's Yelp Best Places To Eat list are Boludo and Momo Sushi, both located in Minneapolis. Boludo (#69 on the list), located in the Kingfield neighborhood of South Minneapolis opened in 2018 and serves Argentinian specialties like pizza and empanadas. Momo Sushi (#92 on the list) is located in North Minneapolis and opened in 2019, serving Tibetan and Japanese cuisine.
I have to say, I've not been to either of those two restaurants-- yet. But I do love me some sushi and pizza, so I'll definitely be putting them on my bucket list of Minnesota restaurants I have to try.
