Faribault Falcons juniors Abby Larson and Verity Wray-Raabolle had All-State performances at the MSHSL Girls Swimming and Diving Meet which wrapped up Saturday in Minneapolis. Three other Faribault girls also achieved All-State Honorable Mention while participating in a relay.

The Faribault team had five participants and still placed 16th in the Class A competition at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.  The Falcons had 42 points.  Fellow Big Nine teams Red Wing and Mankato West finished 11th and 12th respectively.  Winona was 19th, Mankato East 26th.

The Faribault 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Wray-Raabolle, junior Kayla Kenow, junior Grace Rechtzigel and freshman Ava Nelson earned All-State Honorable Mention honors while placing 15th.

Larson achieved All-State status by placing 5th in the 500 and 7th in the 200 Yard Freestyles.

Wray-Raabolle is All-State in the 100 Yard Backstroke after placing 7th.

The Faribault 400 Yard Freestyle Relay was 19th in Preliminary competition so they didn't quality to swim in the finals.  The relay team consisted of Nelson, Rechtzigel, Wray-Raabolle and Larson.

Hutchinson set a new Class A record in the 400 Yard Freestyle.

Wray-Raabolle saw freshman Emma Kern of Delano set a new Class A record in the 100 Yard Backstroke of 54.94.  The Falcon junior would have placed 5th had she been able to match her preliminary time.

Larson also had a better time in the preliminary in the 500 Yard Freestyle and would have placed third if that time had been achieved in the finals.  Just one of the 8 All-State competitors dropped some time from the prelims to the finals.  Four of the top 16 girls were able to drop their time.

Larson's time in the 200 Yard Freestyle went up slightly.  Had she been able to match the prelims time she would have been 6th.  Five of the 8 All-State finishers did drop their times in that competition.

Visitation of Mendota Heights won their 7th consecutive Class A title with 318 total points.  Hutchinson was second with 250.
