Triton coach Don Henderson is a 2016 Minnesota Football Coaches Association hall of fame inductee. Henderson shared thoughts about the honor with KRFO.

Henderson has been the only head coach Triton High School has had in its 26 seasons. He was also the coach of Hayfield/Dodge Center before Dodge Center, Claremont and West Concord came together to form Triton.

Henderson says the award really recognizes the program as a whole. He says the work the assistant coaches have done over the years and the way the players have bought into the program are the reason for the success. Triton has advanced to state nine times, reached the Prep Bowl four times and won the championship three times. The titles came in 1994, 2000 and 2006.

The induction ceremony is Saturday, April 2, at the Doubletree Hotel in Minneapolis. The event includes coach of the year recognition in addition to the hall of fame program. The event begins with a 5PM social time. Dinner starts at 6PM.
