Triton FFA’s Sam Moenning Earns Star in Production Placement
Triton FFA member Sam Moening received one of the Minnesota FFA Association's highest awards, the 2017 Minnesota FFA Star in Production Placement. The awards ceremony was held Monday evening at the 88th annual Minnesota State FFA Convention. Sam is the son of Mark and Donna Moenning from Dodge County.
Part of Sam's supervised agricultural experience (SAE) is working on three farms. He works on his home farm, Scott Family Farms and Blanchard Farms. The knowledge and experience he has gained working on other people's farms inspired him to start a cattle herd with two older sisters. They now own 15 head of Simmental cattle.
Sam will graduate from Triton High School this spring and then join the armed forces. He feels his background in agriculture and working on different livestock farms has prepared him very well for the future. He has learned the value of hard work, perseverance and resiliency.
