Owatonna High School has sponsored a clay target team for a few years and has enjoyed great success and popularity. The team qualified for the Minnesota State High School League state tournament in the spring of 2018. They were going to have a squad of 100-plus this past spring before the pandemic cost them their season.

However, clay target also offers a more informal fall season. The Huskies participated and finished second in their conference. There is no state tournament for the fall season, which has nothing to do with the coronavirus.
