In the original announcement from BP superintendent Chris Staloch wrote, "I have been meeting with other superintendents across southeast MN, and Steele County Public Health to monitor the COVID situation in our communities, and our schools." He further stated, "I have been in constant communication with our school board to share information and discuss how to best move forward as a school district."

Staloch indicated, "We will monitor the health of our counties, our community, and our students and staff over Thanksgiving and the week of November 30 through December 4. We will look to resume in-person learning on December 7 with our pre-K - 6 students...and our 7 - 12 students being in the hybrid model."

He also said in the November 13 email, "We understand that there are many emotions regarding COVID, distance learning, and extra-curricular events. We know that not everyone will agree with the decisions that are being made, but please know that we are trying our best in a difficult situation. Please know that we care deeply about our kids, their education, and all their opportunities to learn and grow."

In an email dated November 16, Staloch provided a schedule for meal pick up the high school main office. That includes Monday, November 30 to pick up meals for November 30 through December 2 from 11 am to 12:30 pm. And Wednesday, December 2 for meals for December 3-4, also from 11 am to 12:30 pm.

BPHS principal John Worke reminds students that early Wednesday dismissal will begin on December 2, "This is only for Wednesdays."
